It was learned today that the Great Panda has suffered an injury to the pinkie finger on his right hand. A close source to the Panda, who wished to remain anonymous said the injury is in the first knuckle region and is quite swollen and sore.
Apparently the Panda injured the digit while eating a Twinkie on Sunday evening. He was sneaking the snack while his den mate the Pandress was asleep upstairs. The source said as the Panda was devouring the sweet treat, he mistakenly chomped down on his finger while taking the last bite before sneaking back up to his den.
Doctors report no broken bones or lasting effect but said the Panda might be a little sore for a few days.
