PanJack Tour Kicks off Fox Hollow First Major of the Year

Thursday July 24, 2008

By F. Joel Goldstrand - Golf Digest

This Saturday marks the first of the two Majors of the Fox Hollow Golf Season; The Combination. It is a 27 hole affair, two man team competition that includes 9 holes of Scramble, 9 holes of Alternate Shot and 9 Holes of Four Ball. Comming two weeks before the grandest Major of all, the Club Championship.

The players are stoked and ready to go. The team of Sloth and Ferret and Panda and Jackal will be leading off the competition at 6:30 AM. All the players were taken aback at the starting time but have had a week to adjust and should be ready to go.

The Panda has begun to warm to the starting time saying; "I have been playing in this Nursing Home League for three years now and have come to embrace these early t-times. I have adjusted by not trying to go to bed the night before and just keep drinking until its time to shit, shower and shave and head off to Formaldehyde Village! I will be ready to munch on some pickled Sloth toes and roasted leg of Ferrat once we get to the first tee. God I am hungry, but then, come to think of it, I am always hungry."

The Jackal, fresh off his debut playing in the MPGA Senior Publinks is fresh and ready to go. "Getting up for a 6:30 AM start is not at all out of my regualar routine as I normally get to bed by 7 Pm and am up by 4:30 AM anyway. I know my partner is ready to go as he has played well during his Silly Season stretch at the Windsong Farms Pitch and Putt. We did very well last year finishing second and we are ready to take the next step to the winners circle."

The Ferret said he was ready to go and that the early start time will not effect him at all. Being a grandp......er dad of a two year old has taught me flexibilty. I get up early anyway with my grand.....er son, so this start time is no real change to my schedule. My partner and I have played well together all year. We unlike others on the tour are still playing in the Classic Four Ball Tourney and know what it takes to grind it out as a team. We'll be ready!"

The Sloth showed a bit more concern than others on the tour. "This is my first major ever and I am excited! I know it's going to be a bit different than playing in a member guest at Bushwood and the annual Wallpaper Designers Scramble every September. I am hoping for a full moon as I plan on being at the course around 5 AM to hit balls and warm up. I have a meeting with my partner Friday night to plot strategy and decide upon club selection off the tee and ensuing clubs to be used based upon where our tee shots end up. You can't be too careful."

This promises to be a fabulous day and we suggest that you fan's arrive early to secure a spot at your favorite holes. Off site parking and shuttle buses will be available and tournament officials have said there are well marked signs directing fans to the parking facilities.
