Above are the potential new venues for tour stops next year. We as the committee are going to be looking at these and other options as our tour stretches it's boundaries outside of the glorious Foxhollow. At this point we feel all of these venues could handle the typical volume of fans for a standard PanJack tour event.
We have set up a suggestion line for other venues 1-8UN-DR5HRS.
The committee will not be making a decision on new venues until the off season. I hope all of the fans and players continue to enjoy the remaining tour events this year.

I checked with the MGA and we don't need to belong to a Men's Club to qualify for MGA events. There are a few options, one being you need to carry a handicap card and you can get one through T-master for about $30. There are other options, but I think this one is the cheapest. Another reason not to join the Fox next year...

Sorry about the double post, but I accidentally clicked twice...still twitching from the weekend.
I am running the numbers for next year. We would start the year off with $1040. Take out $354 for patron cards at baker, links, wirth, and online handicap cards. That would leave $686 for tournament payouts. That is not considering what we pay extra for during the year at fox, i.e. the classic and combo.
What I am thinking to make things easier is to split the $354 in the beginning of the year so we are all set up with a handicap card and advance tee time abilities. Each event can have its own monetary value. If we decide to do a FedEx cup or big event we can all chip in $20-$30 for a really nice trophy. I shopped online and found $120 could get you a large crystal trophy, just to give you an idea how far 80-120 dollars goes.
As far as a schedule that will be very fun and easy to set up. I’m thinking 2 events per month, a season long match play, a brainerd challenge, and of course a tour championship.
Thoughts?
Oh, the 23rd is open for anyone not playing in the classic. Thoughts on playing a PanJack Tour Championship at Baker? Make it interesting and play all 27 holes out there.
How much is it to join the Men's Club at Fox in order to participate in 2 events? Is it worth that money if we're not going to play there or is the plan to still use the Fox as a venue? If we decide to move forward with this new league format, I'd be willing to consider making a clean break from Fox. It costs me about $12 in gas at 70 miles round trip + I've been there for 12+ years.
As far as a first blush on the new format, I like the idea...something to work from.
I'm good for the 23rd. We should plan on a good 7+ hours of golf...5 for the first 18 and at least 3 for the 3rd nine as we'll be a little tired by then. I'll let Melissa know to hold dinner for me...
We could still use the fox as a place to play. I wouldn't' have a problem with that. I was thinking of finding courses that are closer to our houses.
Should we do a PanJack trophy?
Does the money you are proposing include Fox Hollow? If we want to play in a couple of league events, we need to join the Men's Club...$155. You then need to purchase a patron card for $105...$260 total. Is it cost effective to pay these fees if we don't plan to play there very often? Maybe I missed something in your earlier post regarding dues, course fees, etc.
I took the money we would be paying fox as an example of what kind of funds we would have for our own tour. If we did it the new way you would be out $88.50 to start the season plus anything we decide to put in the players pool for the season.
Straight numbers we would have $686 left over and if we did two events a month then you could win $68.60 per event. Or if we took out $150 for awards then $53.60 per event. I think you mentioned we play for drinks and food which is fine with me.
Up front savings is $171.40 before the season starts.
Also, keep in mind our payouts would be cash not fox bucks (which are hugely GAY)
check with the mpga as well to make sure. most of the state events we would play are sponspored by the mpga.
great work. good data by all and I think we have found multiple options for next year.
one thing to think about is we can play whatever day of the week we want to. If the weather blows on saturday we can play on sunday. That to me is a huge advantage.
I agree great furry beast. The flexibility to play other than just Saturday is another reason.
It looks as though we really do not have a good reason at all to continue with the men's club at Fox Hollow, unless it would be for the commraderie and friendships with guys like J. Siccora and in the Ferrets case, Tim Hoag.
Does the newest and obviously somewhat disingaged Sloth have an opionion one way or the other?
PanJack championship this weekend? Are we all on board with this? Are we going to try to play it at Baker or should we play Deer Run? Are we ok with a 18 hole champion?
I think the Sloth is still on cloud nine for taking 2nd place. He won't be speaking for a while.
I am in for Saturday...either one of these courses is fine with me..as long as it's not at Fox Hollow. Let's still try to get an early t-time, 8:00am at the latest, as it gets me home by early/mid afternoon.

My only concern about baker is getting a early tee time without a patron card. Thoughts? Baker is 5 days in advance while the patron tards get 14 days. What about getting up early, grrrr, and heading south to Willingers for the championship?
I am open to playing anywhere this saturday. we could try to secure times at several courses then choose the best one and cancelling the others.
PS Ferret: What is with the double posts of late?
Jackal...last weeks double post was an accident. I don't know what happened today. I think as I get closer to qualifying for my Senior Card, I am a little twitchy...
Regarding t-times...I'd like to be home 3pm-3:30pm. I am going out that evening and Henry gets up from his nap around 3:30ish...
The Sloth lives! I'm far from cloud nine, more like 4 or 5. Still smarting from leaking so badly on the last 5 holes after keeping it together with chewing gum and duct tape for the first 29.
I'm in no position to question the new tour structure. I enjoyed my first year on tour and like the consisteny of early Saturday mornings. I'm not burned out on The Fox and appreciate the structure that the men's club provides. All that being said, I get the fact that you guys need a change after all these years and can see how the hunyucks can wear you out. I can also see how we are running a club within a club with our little foursome. I'm in for wherever you want to take the rebirth of Norman's World Tour.
As far as this Saturday goes, I'm out. We are finally getting up to the cabin for an extended stay, returning on the 28th or 29th. Perhaps in time for the Engler Cup?
I guess we won't have a championship this weekend. Sloth sucks. Oh and thanks for the invite to the cabin. He takes 2nd place and won't share the wealth.
Well girls it's just three of us. Stick with the plan of playing a new course?
yes...I vote to leave it in the capable hands of The Great Panda (as long as he brings it back to the Tour for approval).
I will see what we can get for Saturday morning at Baker. If we can't get on Baker then I think we should travel somewhere for a fun 3 man event. We don't need the Sloth for fun.
FYI-Willingers has early tee times if we want to go down there.
You're right. You don't need the Sloth for fun, but you know, deep down, it's MORE fun WITH The Sloth.
Rather than driving for over an hour...Chaska Town Course has 4 times open between 8 and 9. Baker has nothing until 2:45pm. What do you think?
Are we not going to be able to get a early tee time anywhere BUT the fox?
Gentlemen of The Tour...below is the t-time information for this Saturday at Chaska Town Course. Please note if you are unable to play, I must cancel your reservation by Thursday or you will be billed for the cancellation charge. (Sloth, based on your previous e-mail, you were not included in this reservation)
This E-mail message confirms your Saturday, August 23, 2008 9:22 AM tee time for 3.
Confirmation number: 1629siiiw5720
Aerification of greens Tuesday September 5th.
I look forward to an enjoyable round and listening to the Panda's report on next years tour. I booked the Board Room at Chaska with an LCD projector, flipcharts, notepads and an interpreter to decipher his proposal. Based on the proposed dues and contract language, I have retained Ron Meshbesher to review the documents upon completion.
See you Saturday...Ferret
Panda is out at 9:22. We have a party to be at in the early afternoon. =(
