The team of Ferret, Sloth Jackal and Panda were victorious in last Saturday's 2-3-4. Team "Spit the Bit" were able to hold on for a one shot victory over the team captained by Joe Scicora.
Assistant Captain, Jackal, was asked this morning for a response: "When you think of the last two holes and what could have been, it is astounding that we were able to pull through." said the stunned old veteran.
The boys each earned $50 in Fox Bucks to spend on one last piece of merchandise before the pro shop closes at the end of October.
Congrats to the Dream Team. This will give them incentive to work on their games this winter and come out of the blocks fast in 2009.

Well that shows you you should never quit. Nice going Ferret!! 2 O.B. and kept going!
To paraphrase the wacky Ben Crenshaw: "I had a good feeling about our chances. That's all I'm gonna say."
I'm glad I could do my part to add a little drama to our victory. We would have nothing to talk about in years to come if we had won by 8like we should have.
I was awoken early this morning from my “trance like practice state of mind” getting ready for this weekends tournament with Jackal. Upon hearing the news of our glorious victory I was excited and perplexed at the same time. Excited that we won (although it was never in doubt); thrilled that with 2 OB’s on 18, I still did not record a 9 (not that I was satisfied with the 8 mind you); and perplexed about what I can I possibly purchase with $50 in Fox Bucks (more logo’d something I guess).
I was also pleased to read Panda’s positive remark regarding my never-give-up attitude on #18. A rare, but satisfying moment.
Congratulations to “Team Spit the Bit” for providing our fans with the lesson of there is no I in TEAM and never, ever give up!
It’s been a blast boys. I am going to take a nap…I’m exausted.

I think maybe we should give the Sloth the fox bucks for:
1) A new wedge
2) A lesson on how to use a wedge
3) A wedge
4) A caddy to hit his wedge shots
I say we get off Sloth's back regarding his wedge play. He took a 9 on 17, but it could have easily been a 10. He stuck with it, did not quit, finally hitting the proper groove and we won (plus, I want to keep my hard earned money).
Hat's off to Sloth! I look forward to being his partner next year and moving deeper into the Classic tournament.

Good point Ferret! I would have broken my wedge, or sold it, or killed myself. My hat is off to you for sticking to it. Not many men have found "that grove". I have heard of people looking for it and never returning.
To quote the Great Panda from one of his peyote induced hallucinations: "it's not the arrow, it's the Indian". A new wedge will not help me. Hiring a caddie to hit my wedge shots is an intriguing notion. At this point I’m shopping for forceps to aid in extracting my head from my ass. I’m thinking of something with a corded grip.
Make sure of your weight shift les the forceps get stuck.
Orrrrrrr you MIGHT just might want to consider, stay with me this is radical,..............practice.
I know that is WAY out there man, but I would at least think about it. Couple chips here and there maybe?
Just think about it, it might save your life.
Wai...wai...wait just a minute there 'ole Fur Ball. Be ever so careful with what you're saying. There are many ways to practice...the mental way; the part unconscious way; the totally unconscious way; the “I’m in a slight stupor” way; the physically on the range way…to name a few. Sloth needs to pick which one is right for him. Myself? I have shown some improvement this year on the conscious/unconscious front. I am trying the “physically on the range” mode this week coupled with actual lessons with a pro this year to see if there is any justification in it.
We’ll get back to you next week after we determine its worth…

Whoa there big fella! It is a time honored tradition among middle aged white American males to touch thier clubs every 10 to 14 days, play 10 rounds a summer, and expect a finely tuned game. Are you some sort of Communist? Or worse, a Democrat?
